Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026.
This policy explains what information ScratchGames.co.uk ("we", "us") collects when you visit this site, why, and what rights you have over it under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). We've written it to describe what this site actually does, not a generic template — if a section doesn't apply to you, it's because that feature doesn't exist here.
Who we are
ScratchGames.co.uk is operated by Amy Cooper, registered at 15 The Homend, Ledbury, Herefordshire HR8 1BN, United Kingdom. For any data protection query, email [email protected] or use our Contact page.
What we collect, and why
Local storage, not tracking cookies
We use your browser's local storage — not cookies in the traditional sense — to remember three things: whether you've accepted or declined our cookie notice, whether you've confirmed you're 18+, and whether you've seen our homepage's scratch-reveal animation. None of this is shared with anyone or used to build an advertising profile.
Standard web server logs
Like virtually every website, our hosting provider logs basic technical information (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and performance purposes. We don't use this to identify individual visitors.
No live third-party embeds
Every game image on this site is downloaded and hosted directly by us — your browser never connects to our game-data provider, SlotsLaunch, or any other third party, when you view a review or its artwork. We don't host playable demos on this site; see our guide to choosing a licensed operator for where a properly age-verified demo is available.
Cookies and similar technologies
Our cookie notice lets you accept or decline non-essential storage before anything beyond strictly necessary local storage is used. At present, this site does not load third-party advertising or analytics scripts that require cookie consent — the notice exists so that if we add privacy-friendly analytics in future, the consent mechanism is already in place and won't apply retroactively without your say. If that changes, we'll update this section first.
Legal basis for processing
Where we process any personal data — for example, if you email us a contact request — our legal basis is either your consent (for optional communications) or our legitimate interest in running and improving an editorial website (for security logs and abuse prevention). We don't rely on personal data to serve you gambling-related marketing, because we don't run any.
How long we keep data
Local storage values you set (cookie choice, age confirmation) persist in your own browser until you clear your browser data — we never receive a copy of them on our servers. Standard server logs are retained only as long as our hosting provider's security policy requires, then rotated out. Any correspondence you send us is kept only as long as needed to resolve your query, then deleted or anonymised.
Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data deleted, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to receive your data in a portable format. Given how little personal data this site actually collects, most requests can be resolved quickly — contact us and we'll confirm what, if anything, we hold. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you're unhappy with how we've handled your data.
Children
This site is intended for adults aged 18 and over, in line with UK gambling-content restrictions, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, contact us and we'll remove it.
International transfers
Our hosting infrastructure may involve servers located outside the UK. Where that's the case, we expect any such transfer to rely on standard contractual safeguards recognised under UK data protection law. We sourced game data and imagery from SlotsLaunch, a UK-facing licensed aggregator, at build time — that's a one-off data pull on our end, not something that involves your browser or your personal data at all.
Changes to this policy
We'll update the date at the top of this page whenever we make a material change, and we won't reduce your rights under an earlier version without telling you first.
Straight answers
Do you sell my data?
No. We don't sell, rent or trade personal data to third parties, and we don't run advertising networks that would require doing so.
Do you use tracking cookies?
Not currently. This site uses your browser's local storage for a small number of functional preferences (cookie choice, age confirmation), not third-party tracking cookies.
How do I delete data you hold about me?
For local storage, clear your browser's site data for scratchgames.co.uk at any time — that's entirely in your control. For anything else, contact us and we'll action a deletion request under UK GDPR.
